How to clean and maintain your printed copper water bottle effectively
According to Ayurveda, copper is referred to as “Taamra,” and is believed to boost the health benefits of water stored in it. Better digestion, faster metabolism, stronger immune system, a more even skin tone, and increased mental clarity are among the advantages associated with drinking water stored in copper bottles.
Knowing how to clean your bottle properly is crucial for properly maintaining your bottle. The most basic and time-tested way to clean copper bottles for decades has been the salt and lemon hack. Here’s how it works:
STEP 1: Always start the cleaning process with a gentle sponge and warm, soapy water when dealing with copper. This will remove all the accumulated dust from the surface.
Step 2: Take salt and combine it with half a lemon in a bowl. You can use either table salt or Himalayan rock salt for this.
Step 3: Rub/scrub the copper pot gently with the salt and lemon mix to remove any black or green oxidation. Squeeze the lemon just enough to combine the salt with lemon juice. If your bottle is enamel printed like Verth’s printed copper water bottles, you can skip this step.
Step 4: Fill the copper bottle with hot water, salt, two lemon slices, and vinegar to start cleaning the inside of the bottle.
Step 5: Screw on the lid, give the bottle’s contents a good shake and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Any filth or grime that has accumulated inside the bottle will be loosened by doing this.
Step 6: After thoroughly cleaning the bottle’s interior and exterior, rinse it with water and pat it dry with a fresh piece of cloth.
Keep these essential tips in mind
- When using any cleaning agents, wear gloves and take care not to scratch the copper surface.
- As soon as you see the tarnish starting to show, clean your copper bottle.
- Wipe the interior and outside of the bottle with a gentle, wet cloth. Use of abrasive cleaners or scrubbers should be avoided because they can harm copper.
- Never let the copper dry by air. As a result of the reaction between the minerals in the water, it may cause water stains or tarnish to appear.
- Don’t scrub over the pattern area with a harsh brush.
- Avoid exposing copper vessels to direct heat or sunlight. You can also use household items like pitambari powder, baking soda, and tamarind to clean your bottle.
